Alternative Country Selections

If you're looking for the "real deal" country music, John's musical background speaks for itself. He spent 17 years in Nashville touring, recording, writing songs and doing session guitar work for other artists. His songs have been recorded by Patty Loveless, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jack Ingram and many regional artists. He has been featured in CMT television programming and had songs placed in movies. He has headlined the Pendleton Round-Up, played at the Oregon Country Music Jamboree, and countless fairs and country music events. He has played the Grand Ole Opry, the Dallas-Fort Worth Rodeo, and played shows on the same bill with Carl Perkins, Willie Nelson, Ricky Skaggs, Roy Clark, Freddy Fender and Allison Krauss.

John's original songs tend to lean to the "left of center" progressive country bag or old school country. He has always steered clear of the pop country stuff currently on the radio. He covers tunes by Haggard, Jones, Willie, Waylon, Tammy Wynette, Billy Joe Shaver, Gene Watson and Tony Joe White.
