Blues/R&B Selections

John grew up playing a lot of blues music in clubs. His favorite guitarist is the late blues legend Michael Bloomfield, and he counts Freddie King, Sonny Boy Williamson, Muddy Waters, John Hammond and Jimmie Vaughan as influences.

On the R&B side of things, John is a huge fan of Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Etta James, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder, and has been influenced by the great songs and songwriting of these timeless artists.
