This was my first CD, recorded in Los Angeles for Capitol/Liberty Records in Nashville. It features some of Nashville's and L.A.'s finest musicians, and was produced by Pete Anderson. Pete produced all those great Dwight Yoakam records and has worked with Steve Forbert, Michelle Shocked, Jackson Browne and Roy Orbison, among others.

This CD, my personal favorite, was co-produced with my longtime co-conspirator Brian David Willis. We recorded it live onto analog tape in two days – no overdubs. Singing, guitar playing and guitar solos were done live on the floor – everyone playing just like a live gig. Songs were laid down in two or three takes – no fix-its. Real music with a real band made up of players from Neil Young's and Mark Knopfler's bands. I love the lo-fi, edgy feel of this CD.

This CD was recorded in Brian David Willis' basement studio in Nashville, just me and an acoustic guitar. We added a bit of percussion and a few sparse overdubs from keyboardist Tim Lauer. The title comes from my favorite Portland music venue, O'Connor's, with a phony cover pic of a honky-tonk in my old Nashville neighborhood.
